Our inaugural series features the iconic Boeing 747 in Alitalia livery, Italy’s former flag carrier.

For decades, the name Alitalia was synonymous with Italian style, elegance, and adventure in the skies. Founded in 1946, the Italian flag carrier represented a symbol of national pride, connecting Italy to the world and carrying millions of passengers to destinations near and far.

The “tricolore” on the tail of the aircraft and the unmistakable Alitalia livery became symbols of Italian excellence in the skies. The airline was known for its high-quality service, its focus on passenger comfort, and its contribution to promoting Italian culture and tourism worldwide until its eventual closure in 2021.
